Equipment: Plan your legacy handbook

The Plan Your legacy project began when schools in England were invited to apply for grants of up to £5000 to help them deliver activities that maximised the legacy of the London 2012 Games and ensured that the inspiration and magic of London 2012 continued to motivate young people.

104 schools successfully received the funding and became part of a small national group of teachers passionate about the legacy of the London 2012 Games and the difference that teaching and learning through the Olympic and Paralympic Values makes. They participated in a national induction session, designed to improve the quality of the programme, catalyse existing legacy plans and enable teachers to work more effectively in partnership with other schools.

The Plan Your Legacy handbook has since been updated to support teachers in continuing to use Get Set to help motivate and engage students as part of the continuing legacy of London 2012. It contains a wide variety of activities, and guidance on how to use other Get Set resources to help get students active and teach them about the Olympic and Paralympic Values.
