What was Get Set for Community Action?

Get Set for Community Action was an exciting programme, funded by the Big Lottery Fund as part of their commitment to the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It was launched to empower young people aged 14-19 to make a real difference in their local communities in the run-up to, and during, the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

By reaching out beyond their schools and youth clubs for inspiration, and working with local partners to discover what their community needed, 18,000 Action Leads benefited over 50,000 community members and helped to create stronger relationships in the community.

There were so many great, creative projects and events – be inspired to run further projects or just have a look what everyone got up to with our souvenir booklet.
