Get Set for Positive Energy, brought to you by Team GB, ParalympicsGB and British Gas, is a free programme that has pupils saving energy, making changes that matter and imagining a greener future for everyone – with fun, ten-minute challenges that light up busy classrooms.

Introducing our NEW Summer Challenge

Count down to summer with a week of energy-saving, outdoor fun. Each day, a ten-minute athlete-led activity gets children moving, thinking and discovering how their own energy can power a greener summer.

Ready to take on a Summer Competition?

As part of the holiday Countdown, pupils can design a poster to inspire others to get outside this summer. By entering, your school could win:

  • £5,000 to support your school’s green goals
  • An athlete-led celebration assembly
  • Five runners-up prizes worth £500
  • A printed copy of the winning design

What is Get Set for Positive Energy? 

Get Set for Positive Energy, brought to you by Team GB, ParalympicsGB and British Gas, is a cross-curricular learning opportunity to empower young people and their communities to understand the role we can all play in saving energy and creating a greener future. 

What is the Summer Competition? 

The Summer Competition challenges young people aged 5–11 to design a poster to inspire others to get outside this summer. The Summer Competition opens at 08:00 on 22 April 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 17 July 2026.

What topics does the Get Set for Positive Energy programme cover? 

The programme is the perfect addition to the primary school classroom, exploring key curriculum themes around sustainability, renewable energy, and young people’s health and wellbeing. The programme takes inspiration from the Olympic and Paralympic values to inspire young people to be active citizens of the future. 

Who is the Get Set for Positive Energy programme for? 

The Get Set for Positive Energy Programme is currently for primary school aged children aged 5-11. It is a 5-year programme and in future years aims to expand to a secondary school audience.  

Why are Team GB, ParalympicsGB and British Gas working together? 

Team GB, ParalympicsGB and British Gas want to support up to 1million young people and their families on their sustainability journey, highlighting the role we can all play in saving energy and creating a greener future. Through Get Set for Positive Energy, participants will be able to learn about sustainability issues through their Olympic and Paralympic heroes 

Do we have to pay for the Get Set for Positive Energy resources? 

No all resources and elements of the Get Set for Positive Energy programme are free for schools, and home learners to access.

Who creates the Get Set for Positive Energy Resources? 

All learning resources are created by education specialists and in consultation with teachers. We have done the work to create resources that teachers can use with minimum preparation to inspire and inform your pupils. British Gas have provided all the key facts and figures relating to energy.  

Why are British Gas leading a programme about sustainability?
