Olympic Day is a time for celebration, marking the founding of the modern Olympic Games by Pierre de Coubertin and the setting up of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 23 June 1894. 

The pillars of Olympic Day are move, learn, discover – Together for a better world. On 23 June, people all around the world will take the time to move together to benefits their physical and mental health. 

The goal is to promote participation and peace in sport across the globe regardless of age, gender or athletic ability.

Our Olympic Day activity ideas can help you to use the day as a focus for young people to learn new skills, explore the Values, and get active. You can also use the resources at other points during the year to explore the history, Values and spirit of the Olympic Movement and try some new (or old) Olympic sports.
