Olympic Day is a birthday celebration marking the founding of the modern Olympic Games by Pierre de Coubertin and the setting up of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 23 June 1894. The pillars of Olympic Day are move learn and discover, and the new pillar for 2022 is 'together for a better world'.
The goal is to promote participation and peace in sport across the globe regardless of age, gender or athletic ability.
Our Olympic Day activity ideas can help you to use the day as a focus for young people to learn new skills, explore the Values and get active. You can also use the resources at other points during the year to explore the history, Values and spirit of the Olympic Movement and try some new (or old) Olympic sports.
Share your story to win!
Whatever you plan, remember to share your Olympic Day plans or activities by sharing @GetSetCommunity or adding a story on our Get Set noticeboard using #OlympicDay and #MoveForPeace! Schools or families who share by 30 June 2022 will be in with a chance of winning a class set of exclusive adidas Olympic Day t-shirts for their school!
