Did you know?

The Paralympic Movement was born in Stoke Mandeville, England, in 1948 but the first official Paralympic Games were held in Rome in 1960. The Paralympics are now one of the biggest sporting events in the world and include 28 sports across the summer and winter Games.

A message from Melanie Woods

Mel is a para athlete for ParalympicsGB. She took up wheelchair racing after being in a road accident. Listen to Mel’s message to find out how she made the journey into wheelchair racing and be inspired to try new sports and activities too.

Challenge yourself!

We know that sometimes life can be busy, and you might feel like you haven't got a huge amount of time to dedicate to getting active. It is good to remember ways we can incorporate being active into day-to-day life,
can you jump on the spot whilst you brush your teeth?
Or have a morning boogie in the kitchen whilst you wait for your toast?
Maybe try persuading your parents to walk to school instead of taking the car?

We have created a whole host of short 10-minute activities and games that are perfect ways to get active anywhere, with little or no equipment! Download our Paris Power Ups and challenge yourself to at least 10 minutes of activity today, every little helps on the Path to Paris!
