About Bound for Beijing Home Learning Pack

This home learning pack includes lots of free, downloadable ideas to get active at home as a family. It can be used as part of the Bound for Beijing challenge!

What is Bound for Beijing?

Bound for Beijing is a programme for schools and local communities designed to help children and their families to get active together, try new things and most importantly: have fun. It’s all about team spirit and building a habit of physical activity, rather than focusing on competition. The challenge uses the inspiration of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, encouraging children and their families to explore the different sports of the Winter Games whilst virtually climbing snowy ‘Mount Spirit’.

Travelling in school teams, children will gain metres by logging their physical activity on the Bound for Beijing website. Bound for Beijing is all about getting active at home as well as in school, so teams will climb quicker by logging activity with their family. By taking part, pupils will grow in confidence and learn vital skills, such as teamwork and resilience, as well as having the chance to win exciting prizes along the way.

During their virtual climb, teams will stop off to explore the locations where the Winter Games will take place: the ice rink, alpine centre and snow park where they will earn stickers and unlock challenges and prizes.
